My Valentines Day gift. Pink Flamingo croquet!

Ok, so I ask for some pretty “out there” gifts. While most women would love chocolates & flowers for Valentines day, I wanted a pink flamingo croquet set. Yes I did! But I wanted it to be extra special & I wanted it to be made by my Valentine! So here is what I got!

Oh yes, he did! Mr P made me 4 croquet mallets & I painted them to be flamingos!

Is that not just the best gift ever!

I have quite an obsession with flamingos & I have always wanted a flamingo croquet set from the very first time that I fell in love with Alice In Wonderland.

Mr P kindly made the mallets for me from a round piece of pine & a length of dowel.

All up they cost around $15 to make.
I then painted them with a primer.

After that dried it was on to the pink. I was super excited to find that there is actually a “Flamingo Pink” spray paint! How cool is that!

It was then time to paint the beaks. I just used some masking tape to section off the part I wanted to paint black.

Printed off some eyes onto sticky backed paper.

I am very lucky that when Mr P hears my crazy ideas, he always thinks for a minute then says, “I can do that for you.” I am sure he takes that minute to think to himself, “She wants what??? Is she crazy??? Ok, don’t upset the crazy lady, just tell her you can do that for her.” But I mean, seriously, doesn’t every woman ask for some strange things to be made? Please tell me that I am not alone!

Anyone for a game of croquet?
